Local Dive Trip

Two Dives 2,500 THB
One Dive 1,700 THB

Around Phi Phi there are around 20 local dive sites. Koh Phi Phi is famous fo it’s diving and many people come to dive here from Krabi, Koh Lanta, Phuket and Ao Nang, however, from all these places the journey can be up to 2 hours on the boat.
The national marine park of Koh Phi Phi is a mere 15 minutes away by Longtail from our base in Phi Phi Don.
We dive off a traditional Thai Longtail Boat, custom designed for diving which allows us to access the dive sites, beaches, bays and lagoons in our marine park.
Our boat captain has been driving longtail boats for 30 years on Koh Phi Phi and is a very experienced and safe captain.
During the lunch break we stop onto one of the beautiful beaches of Koh Phi Phi Ley for snorkeling, lunch and sunbathing. Getting off and on a longtail boat is very simple, we enter using a backwards roll and when returning to the boat the captain takes care of all of your equipment so you can climb up the ladder unhindered by heavy gear. When weather conditions are unsuitable for longtail boats we will organize for a big boat as safety is our main priority. In the Andaman Sea there is a great diversity of marine life, our local residents include harmless leopard sharks and black tip reef sharks, many resident hawksbill turtles, cuttlefish, barracuda, octopi, beautiful colourful nudibranches, moray eels, clownfish, angelfish and among some of the rarer species in Thailand you can discover harlequin shrimps, seahorses, ghost pipefish and frogfish.

Lunch on the Beach Turtle

We also encounter Whale Sharks around our local dive sites every now and again, so you never know when you will be fortunate enough to encounter one of the most magnificent and endangered animals in the ocean.

KING CRUISER WRECK, SHARK POINT AND ANEMONE REEF

4,300 THB for 3 dives
3,500 THB for 2 dives

We also offer trips upon request to the King Cruiser Wreck, Shark Point and Anemone Reef. These sites are about 1 and half hours away from Koh Phi Phi, halfway between Phi Phi and Phuket.

King Cruiser
The King Cruiser Wreck is a great introduction to Wreck Diving and can be dived as a 3 dive trip or as part of your Advanced Course or as an Adventure Dive with an instructor.
The King Cruiser was a car ferry that used to travel between Surat Thani and Koh Samui, but was brought over to Phuket to ferry tourists between Phuket and Koh Phi Phi.
On May 7, 1997 the car ferry collided with Anemone Reef on it’s daily journey from Phuket to Phi Phi and sunk 9 miles west of Phi Phi Don under dubious circumstances. Everyone on board was rescued and rumours of insurance fraud began to spread.
The wreck is 85 meters long and 25 meters wide. Maximum depth on this site is 32 meters.

Anenome Reef
This is a rock, submerged about 2 meters below the surface that the King Cruiser hit just before it sank. The collision caused the rock to be split in two, and although it was damaged, it is an amazing site that hosts many species. It is called anemone reef for fairly obvious reasons… it is covered in anemones.

Location: A few hundred meters from The King Cruiser, it is marked with a small lighthouse set upon a rock breaking the surface.
Difficulty: A fairly friendly site. In current you may not be able to move around the whole site, but there is usually protection given.
Maximum depth: 26 meters
Average depth: 14 meters

Shark Point
This site allows for good chances of seeing large variety of fish and resident Leopard Sharks can be found sleeping on the sand. Look out for the different types of puffer fish; crocodile longtoms circle the rocks close to the surface. It is a dramatic sight that allows for exploring. There are scattered pinnacles moving south away from the main site.

HIN DAENG AND HIN MUANG

5,500 THB for 2 dives

Hin Daeng and Muang are two pinnacles located about an hour and a half by speedboat south of Koh Phi Phi.
These sites are spectacular and dramatic and are visited by occasional whale sharks and frequent sightings of Manta Rays as this is a cleaning station where pelagics come to feed and be cleaned.
In 2007 reports of some damage due to electrical and dynamite fishing occurred on both these sites, causing some coral death however, they are well on the road to recovery and the sites are now back to 70% of their former beauty.
Aside from the occasional pelagic visitor, the sites are covered in beautiful soft corals and leopard sharks, mobula rays, turtles can be seen, also there are lots of beautiful small creatures and schools of batfish and barracuda surround the sites.

Location: 70 km due south of Phi Phi
Difficulty: For experienced and advanced divers. These are open sites that drop off to about 65 meters, so planning and good depth control on either of these sites are a must. Open ocean sites are subjected to both tidal and oceanic currents. So be prepared for anything.

Koh Haa

4,500 THB for 2 dives

Koh Haa in Thai means 5 islands, and is situated South of Koh Phi Phi. The island’s 5 huge boulders form a natural lagoon in the middle of the ocean and offers stunning scenery above and below water. Koh Haa is famed for its “Cathedral” situated in Koh Haa Yai, where divers ascend into an air pocket within the rock itself where you can admire the light playing upon the water and the impressive stalactites hanging from the cave ceiling. Koh Haa also boasts chimneys and swimthroughs for advanced divers yet offers great shallow diving also for those who do not possess an Advanced Certificate. Turtles and Leopard Sharks are frequent visitors to these sites also and the shallows offers a chance to go hunting for hard to find macro marine life.

Difficulty:For divers of all experience. There are overhead environments, caves and swimthroughs for advanced divers and beautiful shallow reefs for those who are new to diving.
Maximum Depth: 28 meters
Average Depth: 18 meters
