Blue View Divers has always tried to include the local school in Tonsai when running projects on the island, in an effort to both educate the next generation of Thai Nationals on Phi Phi about the ecology of this beautfitul island, as well as providing information on how to promote responsible tourism and good practices in rubbish collection and disposal.
Starting in May, we will be working with the teachers and parents to kick start our most ambitious project together; a five month curriculum on ecology and conservation, as well as providing an oppurtunity for a group of stduents to take their Open Water licences. |

Manta and Whale Shark Madness 2009 has been a good year for Whale Sharks and Manta Rays, the high season brought us a wealth of sightings especially in May when we had 12 consecutive days of Mantas and Whale Sharks seen at Hin Daeng and Muang. There has been more sightings in the past year than there has been in previous years in Koh Phi Phi, this is an unusual occurrence that we hope will continue into the rest of the year!
Blue View Divers would like to congratulate Peter Gerritz and his new fiancée Sterling who got engaged in Loh Sammah Bay in June.

Jetsada Manikotern Khun Tee left in May to pursue a career in the Merhcant Marines with our best wishes. During his two year tenure at Blue View, his contributions towards creating a supportive and friendly 'feeling' in the Dive School for colleagues and customers are largely responsible for creating the atmosphere we all benefit from everyday here at Blue View Divers. Tee is doing well as he studies hard in Bangkok, and is touch every week or so to get updated on goings and to catch up his with hsi extended family. Tee managed to get some practice in taking Kathleen out to the dive sites, hope it all helps when he's Captaining container ship around the world in the years to come. |
