Do you have a passion for diving and the underwater world? Would you like to make the ocean your office? Your journey to become a professional diver begins with the PADI Divemaster Course!

Working closely with a PADI Instructor you will expand your knowledge and develop skills to a professional level. Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities as a diver. It qualifies you to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers.

The PADI Divemaster Cerfification is a prerequisite for PADI Assistant Instructor and PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor Courses.

Being a PADI 5* Dive Centre, expect the highest level of training and safety. As a PADI Green Star Dive Centre you will learn to be an environmentally aware Divemaster and role model. Take can assist in our community and daily cleanups, and other coral cleaning projects.

We can give you experience in sales, tanks filling, equipment servicing and other areas you are interested in. Our swimming pool is available from 9am – 11am for you to practice your skill demonstrations.

Our PADI Instructors have years of experience and can’t wait to share it with you. You will work with our team to hone your diving skills until you feel confident to independently guide certified divers.

What is involved?

  • In the classroom
  • Build upon what you already know by increasing your knowledge and understanding of dive theory
  • Through independent and classroom study you will complete knowledge reviews for 9 chapters of your PADI Divemaster Manual.

    Topics include: The Role and Characteristics of a PADI Divemaster, Supervising Diving Activities, Assisting with Student Divers, Diving Safety and Risk Management, Divemaster-Conducted Programs, Speciallized Skills and Activities, The Business of Diving and Your Career, Awareness of the Dive Environment, Dive Theory Review

  • You will create an Emergency Assistance Plan for the local diving area which will prepare you for diving related emergencies.
  • Complete two multiple choice exams
  • In the water
  • Perform 4 Waterskills Exercises: a timed swim, snorkel swim, survival float, tired diver tow.
  • Refresh your Rescue skills in a simulated Rescue Scenario.
  • Practice demonstrating each skill from the Open Water Course to a high standard.
  • Assist in boat and dive shop operations.
  • Conduct briefings, guide certified divers and organize diving activities.
  • Complete workshops for all PADI Divemaster conducted programs.
  • Gain night diving, deep diving and wreck diving experience.
  • Practical Assessments for leading certified divers and assisting Instructors with student divers in both confined and open water.
  • Assisting with students completing continuing education courses.
  • Complete a Deep Dive Scenario, Search and Recovery Scenario and Dive Site Mapping project.
  • By certification you will have logged 60 open water dives.

What will you be qualified to do?

  • Supervise certified divers during diving activities.
  • Assist with training divers taking PADI courses.
  • Independently conduct PADI programs for certified divers including Scuba Review and Discover Local Diving.
  • Conduct PADI Programs for non-divers including Discover Snorkeling and PADI Skin Diver course.
  • Accompany students on PADI Open Water Dives, PADI Adventure Dives or Specialty Dives whilst under the indirect supervision of a PADI Instructor.
  • If qualified as a PADI Discover Scuba Diving Leader, you can conduct PADI Discover Scuba Diving confined pratice.

    Prerequisites?

    • You must be 18 years or older and have 40 logged dives.
    • You must be PADI Advanced Open Water Certified and PADI Rescue Certified (or equivalent from another organisation).
    • Emergency First Response Primary + Secondary Care training within the past 24 months(or equivalent from another organisation).
    • You must be fit for diving and must submit a Medical Statement signed by a physician within the last 12 months.
    • Candidates should be dynamic, punctual and hard working team players who are willing to learn.

      Schedule?

      To get the most out of your PADI Divemaster course we recommend between 6 to 8 weeks to complete. The roles of a PADI Divemaster can be challenging both mentally and physically. During the course, you will be part of the team and learn how to handle day to day logistics.

      The longer you spend as a Divemaster Candidate the more prepared you will be. We want to give you a good head start for when you decide to do your PADI Instructor Course.

      Blue View Divers offers you the opportunity to put your training into practice with an optional Internship. We invite you stay for 2 weeks after you are certified to gain valuable ʻreal lifeʼ experience as a PADI Divemaster!

      You can continue your education once you are finished your Divemaster Course and sign up for PADI Speciality Course.

      Course schedules are flexible and you can start training anytime. If you have a tight schedule or would like spread the course over a longer time period please contact us for a custom schedule.

      Whatʼs Included?

      Price includes your equipment hire, scuba instruction, fruit, water and lunch on dive trips, tea and coffee in the shop.

      As Divemaster Candidates you will get discount on diving equipment purchases.

      You must have insurance that covers your scuba diving during activities. If you do not have Scuba Insurance, we can help to arrange that for you.

      The PADI Divemaster Camp runs every September at Blue View Divers. It is a month long program to train divers to a professional level. Check out our Divemaster Ccamp Website for more details.

      The IDC is made up of 2 parts; the PADI Assistant Instructor and the PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor courses.

      It is a 10 day comprehensive course testing your dive theory, with practical teaching exercises followed by a 2 day Instructor Exam (IE). Are you interested in completing your PADI Divemaster and PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor?
