Have a passion for diving and would like to make the ocean your office?
Then your journey to become a professional diver begins here with the PADI Divemaster Course!
I came to Phi Phi to do my rescue, EFR and divemaster course with blue view divers. They were so helpful when I was trying to plan my trip there over email, especially Caroline, with quick responses and loads of information!
All the staff there are awesome, and for this reason I really enjoyed doing my courses!
Diving off long tail boats is wicked and by far my favourite way to dive. Because they always have small groups, it’s a lot more personal and you get to know people. The lunch was amazing also!
Diving around Phi Phi has by far been my best yet, with good visibility and of course so much to see! I will definitely come back here to dive again!
Cheers to everybody at blue view for one of the best experiences and for making me a divemaster!Beth Trip Advisor Reviewed March 2016

What is involved?
In the Classroom:
Build upon what you already know by increasing your knowledge and understanding of dive theory through independent study. Then when you are ready this will be followed by your final exams.
‘The Role of a PADI Divemaster’, ‘Supervising Diving Activities & Divemaster Conducted Programs’, ‘Assisting with Student Divers’, ‘Diving Safety and Risk Management’, ‘Specialized Skills and Activities’, ‘The Business of Diving’, ‘Environmental Awareness’ and finally ‘Dive Theory’
Together with the theory you will also create an Emergency Assistance Plan for the local diving area. As a result this will prepare you for diving related emergencies.
In the Water:
There are FOUR Waterskills Exercises to complete including a timed swim, snorkel swim, survival float and also a tired diver tow. Furthermore you will complete a Deep Dive Scenario, Search and Recovery Scenario and Dive Site Mapping project.
You will refresh your Rescue skills in a simulated Rescue Scenario and practice demonstrating each skill from the Open Water Course to a high standard. You will also conduct dive briefings, guide certified divers and organise diving logistics.
Assisting with students completing continuing education courses such as the Advanced Course are especially fun, and you will learn proficiency in dive boat and dive shop operations.
Workshops and practical assessments for all PADI Divemaster programs will take place between the pool, confined water and also open water.
By certification you will have logged at least 60 open water dives.
What will you be qualified to do?
You will be qualified to supervise certified divers during diving activities, and also assist with Instructors who are teaching new divers on PADI courses.
Divemasters can also independently conduct PADI programs for certified divers including Scuba Review and Discover Local Diving.
Furthermore, you can conduct PADI Programs for non-divers including Discover Snorkeling and PADI Skin Diver course.
Accompany students on PADI Open Water Dives, PADI Adventure Dives or Specialty Dives while under the indirect supervision of a PADI Instructor.
In addition, you can become qualified as a PADI Discover Scuba Diving Leader, and then you can conduct PADI Discover Scuba Diving confined practice.
To begin with, you must be 18 years or older and have at least 40 logged dives.

We recommend 4 to 6 weeks to complete your PADI Divemaster Course, since the roles of a PADI Divemaster can be challenging both mentally and physically. You will be part of our dive team and therefor learn how to handle day to day logistics.
The more time you spend as a Divemaster Candidate the more prepared you will be. As a result you will begin your diving career confidently, and at the same time have a good head start for when you decide to do your PADI Instructor Course.
You will be treated as an intern throughout your course however Blue View Divers also offers the opportunity to put your training into practice with an optional post course Internship. Stay for 2 weeks after you are certified to gain valuable ʻreal lifeʼ experience as a PADI Divemaster.
In addition you can continue your education once you are finished and sign up for a PADI Speciality Course with discounted prices. We believe that Oxygen Provider, Nitrox, Wreck Diver, Navigation, Night Diver and Deep Diver can be especially beneficial to new Divemasters.
It is very important that all of our divers are covered by insurance, specifically for all scuba activities. Divemaster Trainees must have insurance that covers scuba diving however if you do not have Diving Insurance we can help to arrange that for you.
